For Whom Do You Stand? : “Stand Up Stand Up For Jesus”

Stand up stand up for Jesus

1. Stand up! stand up for Jesus!
Ye soldiers of the cross;
Lift high His royal banner,
It must not suffer loss:
From vict’ry unto vict’ry
His army shall He lead,
Till every foe is vanquished
And Christ is Lord indeed.

Stand up for Jesus
Ye soldiers of the cross;
Lift high His royal banner,
It must not, it must not suffer loss.
2. Stand up! stand up for Jesus!
The trumpet call obey;
Forth to the mighty conflict
In this His glorious day.
Ye that are men, now serve Him
Against unnumbered foes;
Let courage rise with danger.
And strength to strength oppose.
3.Stand up! stand up for Jesus!
Stand in His strength alone;
The arm of flesh will fail you;
Ye dare not trust your own.
Put on the Gospel armor,
And, watching unto prayer,
Where duty calls, or danger,
Be never wanting there.
4. Stand up! stand up for Jesus!
The strife will not be long:
This day the noise of battle,
The next the victor’s song;
To him that overcometh
A crown of life shall be;
He, with the King of glory,
Shall reign eternally.

The battle isn’t fought as humans fight but through faith and prayer. As the song says “flesh will fail you.”

Beauty for Ashes – Isaiah 61:3

Purple Tulips
By A.P.

To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the Lord , that He may be glorified.”
Isaiah 61:3 NKJV

Thanks Giving – Look – Hope – Food – Psalms 145

Since it is easy to say: I am thankful for _______, and move on, could trials assist our focus — deepen our gratitude?

“The eyes of all look to You in hope; You give them their food as they need it. When You open Your hand, You satisfy the hunger and thirst of every living thing.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭145:15-16‬ ‭NLT‬‬

While writing down a list of trials and pondering each, the above verses found me. Continue reading “Thanks Giving – Look – Hope – Food – Psalms 145”

Shift into Spiritual Gear

Driving a manual transmission can be intimidating or exhilarating.  Either way, it requires more attention of the operator. Shifting into any gear takes practiced effort. In fact, it requires a choice and coordinated movements. Likewise when moving from spiritual neutral into spiritual gear.

Earlier I posted “Spiritual Neutral Out of Gear.” Which is how I found myself upon awaking one morning. Although I didn’t stay there.  Continue reading “Shift into Spiritual Gear”

Spiritual Neutral? Out of Gear?

Truck in neutral portraying spiritual neutral

Do you ever find yourself in spiritual neutral? Wondering what happened? How did I get here? I was just really enjoying: what God was doing in my life, reading, studying, or participating as His hands. Then it seems suddenly it’s all vanished. It isn’t replaced with discouragement or despair — as sometimes that can happen. But! The drive to spiritually move: read, pray or share Him with others is all gone. Prayer: Sustain the Hurting

Father tonight I pray for Your seeking daughter. Sustain her heart. She feels it’s been trampled, bruised, and laying alone beyond repair. When she tries to self protect the wounds she inflicts deepen her own pain and isolation.
Father direct her eyes to fear You. Your Word says the Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Thank You for giving her a place to turn for spiritual guidance. Help her find the resources her heart craves. She is suffocating from a lack of knowing Your ways and plan. Give her remembrance of times of sweet joy in the past with the man she committed to for life. She has unintentionally and unwittingly started so many fires or fanned the flames where they were started by another. Help her learn to douse what’s going and stamp out future sparks. Lord I don’t have all the answers but You do. Send her some rain. In Jesus name amen
